We hosted a highly successful Trunk or Treat event that welcomed more than 1,200 local students and their families. The evening blended fun with learning as booths from school groups and community partners offered activities and treats. At our KET booth, families received educational resources, children enjoyed candy, and every student left with a free book to take home. This literacy effort was made possible by the Russell High School Key Club’s schoolwide book drive and the support of the Association for Teaching Black History in Kentucky (ATBHK), which provided Sesame Street books and additional materials. The event strengthened family engagement, promoted early literacy, and demonstrated the power of community partnerships in supporting student success.
